Meaningful Worship is a core value at Skyline Church

The word worship comes from the old English word: worth-ship, which means to ascribe worth to something.

Worship is bringing God to the center of whatever it is that are doing.  Romans 12:1 (MSG) “Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going to work and walking around life – and place it before God as an offering.”

Jesus tells us that our worship means nothing if there’s no heart dimension to it:  Matthew 15:8-9 (NIV) “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.

True worship begins with our hearts, worship is an overflow of what is going “on” in our hearts and will be seen externally in worship. John 4:23-24 (NIV) Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Worship is the motivation that turns every task into a demonstration of our love for God.

Meaningful worship is the way you live your life.

Our worship either affirms or denies everything we say we believe about God.

God wants every part of us; our Heart, Mind, Soul & Body

God lives in the praises of His people, and it’s our desire to experience His presence through our worship and help people connect with Jesus in an authentic way. We strive for excellence in our music, vocal and dramatic presentations so that God is magnified in our worship.
